Some people think that the first time traveling to an unknown country like India may not be safe and comfortable. To keep our international volunteers free from this trauma, volunteers will get full support and guidance through our representative, right from the moment of their arrival to the time of departure.

All time availability of support staff for cooking, driving, maintenance of the facilities and to assist volunteers in all their activities.

All transportation to and from project placements are provided for comfortable and safe travel with hired means of transport. Volunteers are accompanied and supported during all the activities throughout the programs.

Volunteers are greeted immediately upon their arrival at Delhi airport and transported directly to a hotel for relaxation. You are provided with detailed written information regarding the next day schedule, shifting to the project location and orientation about the first days at the camp.

On the first and second day in the camp, volunteers are given detailed presentation about the staff, accommodation, volunteer work, project area, cultural sensitivities, dress code, dos and don’ts, safety and other issues relevant to the volunteer work. At the same time, volunteers pay their visit to all our work areas to get familiarized with the community and the children. Then, after taking volunteer’s interest and choice into consideration, they are being allotted their work area.

During your whole volunteer stay, informative and interactive information sessions related to India’s history, geography, culture, languages etc. are organized.

Here the volunteers are integrated in a genuine Indian family in their farm in the rural area. You are one of them, in the middle of their daily life – not a tourist observing from a distance. The volunteers are working and living with the local community not as a traveler but as their fellow resident.

To experience the Indian traditions, customs and the Indian life style the volunteers get plenty of opportunities to visit the fascinating textile- and jewelry markets for shopping, local fairs and festivals. The volunteers may probably get the opportunity to participate in social celebrations like – a wedding, birthday party etc if such events occur during the volunteer weeks. The villagers are very proud and happy to have international guests during their celebrations!

Volunteers are offered a variety of professionally organized cultural workshops that include theory and practical activities relating to Yoga, meditation, language lessons, Indian cooking, Indian dressing and henna painting.

Orientation sessions
Good and careful information about the different projects, safety, accommodation, transports and other relevant issues is naturally delivered during the first days in the camp – section Support and Information.

Informative and interactive sessions are organized and scheduled for participants to learn about India - in general, its economy, life of the people, geography, history, culture, caste system and the languages, including some Hindi lessons.
