Orphanages in New Delhi

We have 2 orphanages available in New Delhi.

Orphanage
The Orphanage is an NGO that has been working for the welfare of orphans, deaf and slum children for many years. The orphanage offers rooms, food, and education. Currently it hosts 25 small children aged 5 to 10. There are 4 staff members to care of them. The project is located 25 KM South of New Delhi in a beautiful setting.  

Orphanage
This is another orphanage, it is an NGO that has been working for the welfare of orphans, deprived children and street children for more than 7 years. Currently it hosts 30 small disadvantaged children aged 5 to 16, and 4 staff members to care of them. The orphanage is located 20 KM south of Delhi in a beautiful rural setting. It also runs a school for street children and poor children. volunteers can also learn about these children and also you can teach these children. The orphanage offers rooms, food, and education for the children at the orphanage.

Activities at the Center:                  
This placement is suitable for volunteers who wish to share their love and compassion for orphans and deaf small children. The placement is sure to provide numerous opportunities to serve these children. All activities at the center are related to taking care of these children. Generally, volunteers involve in the following activities:

Weekend Activities:
You can visit New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on weekends.

Accommodations:
WLS International has arranged your accommodations at the Orphanage. The orphanage has volunteers’ rooms with basic facilities. You need to bring a mosquito net and sleeping bag.

Food:
Your host project provides three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the orphanage center. Breakfast will be bread, chapatti, and tea. Lunch and dinner will be chapattis, rice, and lentil soup with seasonal vegetable.

 

Trust School in New Delhi 

Project Summary
This is a school for poor and deprived children. It has around 200 students. It has been working for the welfare of children for more than 10 years. The school is located 20 KM south of Delhi in a beautiful rural setting.

Activities at the Center:                  

Note: Most of the schools are on holiday in June due to summer holiday. So, you will be working with the children at Leprosy colony before the school opens in June. Their parents were once suffered from Leprosy but the children are not suffering from Leprosy and parents are also cured long log. The activities remain the same mentioned above. There will be few more volunteers working along with you. Location is also the same.

You can visit Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on weekends.

Accommodations:
WLS International  has arranged your accommodations at the host family, 3km away from the project. You need to bring a mosquito net and sleeping bag.

Food:
Your host project provides three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the campus. Breakfast will be bread, chapatti, and tea. Lunch and dinner will be chapattis, rice, and lentil soup with seasonal vegetable. It changes time to time.

 

Ambulance Project in New Delhi

Project Summary
There are 2 kinds of ambulance programs available.


Eye Ambulance: Here our volunteers and optometrists go to different rural areas daily. Their main target is to find old aged people who have cataracts and bring them back to the hospital for free surgery. Volunteers have the opportunity to assist in checking their vision as well as observing consultations with the optometrists. It requires no prior knowledge.
General Ambulance: Here our volunteers accompany a doctor and pharmacists go to specific areas and provide medical care and medicines at very low cost.  Volunteers have the opportunity to observe and assist the doctor in general examinations and the pharmacist in dispensing medication.

Besides this, volunteers can also work in a normal hospital and clinics to know more and you can work like measuring temperatures, blood pressure, giving shots or according to your interest.

You can visit Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on weekends.

Accommodations:
WLS International  has arranged your accommodations at the host family, 3km away from the project. You need to take a auto or most of the time, your host family drop you to your project. You need to bring a mosquito net and sleeping bag.

Food:
Your host project provides three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the campus. Breakfast will be bread, chapatti, and tea. Lunch and dinner will be chapattis, rice, and lentil soup with seasonal vegetable. It changes time to time.

 

Women Project in New Delhi

Project Summary
The Women Project: is a women empowerment and micro finance project. It also runs a school for autistic children at the same compound. This project is located in Faridabad, Delhi NCR.

Activities at the Center:                  

Weekend Activities:
This project is located in the rural setting of Delhi NCR, India. In the free time, you can go to see Delhi and Agra.

Accommodations:
WLS International has arranged your accommodation at the host project. The project is located in 3km from the host family. You will be living with sharing room with other volunteers. You need to bring a mosquito net and sleeping bag.

Food:
Your host provides three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast will be bread, chapatti, and tea. Lunch and dinner will be chapattis, rice, and lentil soup with seasonal vegetable.

 

Charitable School in New Delhi

Project Summary
The Charitable School is a school for poor, street and deprived children. It has around 200 students. It has been working for the welfare of children for more than 7 years.The school is located 20 KM south from Central Delhi, place called Gurgaon in a beautiful setting. 10km away from Indira Gabdhi International Airport.

Activities at the Center:                  

Weekend Activities:
You can visit Delhi, Agra and Jaipur on weekends.

Accommodations:
WLS International has arranged your accommodations at the host family. There is electricity, fan, western toilets, etc.

Food:
Your host family provides three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Breakfast will be bread, chapatti, and tea. Lunch and dinner will be chapattis, rice, and lentil soup with seasonal vegetable.


Orphanage in Jaipur, Rajasthan

Project Summary
This orphanage is an NGO that has been working for the welfare Indian deprived communities in Jaipur since last 10 years. Some of its projects HIV/AIDS awareness, dental hygiene camps, and so on.

Besides this, the orphanage runs a residential childcare home to help the disadvantaged, orphaned and abandoned children. 

They offer rooms, food, and education. Currently it hosts 47 small children aged 5 to 14, and 6 staff members to care of them. The orphanage is located 30 KM north of Jaipur in a beautiful rural setting.


Activities at the Center:                  
This placement is suitable for volunteers who wish to share their love and compassion for orphans and small children. The placement is sure to provide numerous opportunities to serve these destitute children. All activities at the center are related to taking cares of these infant children. Usually, volunteers will be involved in following activities:

Weekend Activities:
This project is located in the rural part of Jaipur, India. The village where the project is located is very beautiful with sandy green field. The area is also close to many tourist attractions such as the city Palace, Amer Fort, etc which are all accessible over the weekends or during volunteers’ free time.

Jaipur, Rajastan
Jaipur, the capital of Rajastan known as “pink city” is a part of Golden triangle (Delhi-Jaipur-Agra). This is also renowned for the land of Rajputs, a group warriors controlled this part since the medieval periods. This is truly exotic and colorful land. People here speak Rajesthani (Madwari) and Hindi languages. The city consists of forts and palaces, making one of the best destinations to explore in India. Rajputs, the kings of Rajesthan were British allied which allowed them to continue independence and were still existed after India’s independence but Indira Gandhi abolished it in 1970s. 

Accommodations:
WLS International has arranged your accommodations at the orphanage. The orphanage has two volunteer houses. You will be sharing room with other international volunteers. You need to bring a mosquito net and sleeping bag.

Food:
The host project provides three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at the orphanage center. Breakfast will be bread, chapatti, and tea. Lunch and dinner will be chapattis, rice, and lentil soup with seasonal vegetable.

 

HIV/Aids Project in Jaipur, Rajasthan

Project Summary
This is an NGO that has been working for the welfare Indian deprived communities in Jaipur since last 10 years. Some of its projects are HIV/AIDS awareness, dental hygiene camps, and orphanage home and women project.

Activities at the Center:      
AIDS prevention for Truck Drivers: This project focuses on stopping the spread of HIV among truckers and associated high-risk populations on National Highway No. 8 in Jaipur. The specific objectives are to reach out to about 20,000 truckers for prevention of HIV/AIDS through Behavior Change through Communication.

AIDS prevention for Street Children: This project's aim is to address the problem of HIV/AIDS among high-risk groups of street children in Jaipur District. Commercial sex workers are also included in the intervention. The specific objectives of the project are to educate and increase awareness among both the street children and the sex workers about HIV-AIDS. As part of intervention of this project regular health camps are conducted in the slums of Jaipur for street children and sex workers.

Accommodations:
WLS International  has arranged your accommodations in a hostel. The hostel is facilitated with basic needs.The single wood bed is equipped with a mattress, bed cover, one pillow, and blanket. You need to bring a mosquito net and a sleeping bag. You will be sharing with other volunteers.

Food:
Your hostel provides three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Breakfast will be bread, chapatti, and tea. Lunch and dinner will be chapattis, rice, and lentil soup with seasonal vegetable.
